Cambria County is located in the central-western portion of Pennsylvania, with its county seat in the borough of Ebensburg. The county’s judicial system operates through the Court of Common Pleas — the general trial court — and a network of Magisterial District Courts that handle preliminary hearings, summary offenses, and minor civil disputes. Several county offices share responsibility for maintaining court records: the Clerk of Courts manages criminal filings, the Prothonotary maintains civil records, and the Register of Wills/Clerk of Orphans’ Court oversees probate, marriage, and adoption files. All of these offices are housed in the Cambria County Courthouse at 200 South Center Street in Ebensburg.
Pennsylvania court records can be searched through multiple channels, including in-person visits to the appropriate clerk’s office, written requests submitted by mail, and electronic databases maintained at the county and state levels. The Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania Web Portal provides free public access to docket sheets across the state’s criminal, civil, and appellate courts. PennsylvaniaCourts.us may also assist in locating publicly available court case information from Pennsylvania’s trial and appellate courts. At the county level, the Cambria County Prothonotary operates a dedicated online portal for civil case searches.
